Deserts in south west USA have a few things in common, including cacti, But what I found striking of the deserts I visited, they are all as equally beautiful.
Starting out on a trip through the south it was possible to get a glimpse of the Nevada desert regions on the drive through that state on the way to Death Valley. From the snow covered expanses in Nevada to the depth of Death Valley, to the subtle Mojave desert and dramatic Joshua Tree National Park, both located in the Colarodo desert basin. Further south, on the Mexican border, is the pristine Organ Pipes National Park and east to Tucson is the unrelenting columns of the Saguaro cacti, protected by Saguaro National Park, to the east and west of Tucson, Arizona.
